This set of 30 hexagonal blocks teach the workings of the bee family, how honeycomb is built and give a general idea a to the workings of the bee family and what goes on in a bee hive. Each block represents different aspects of a beehive and has 5 key characters – Queen, Worker, Drone, Egg and Larva. The queen is primarily there to lay eggs that will later turn into young bees, and the ‘drones’ are male bees that fertilise the eggs. Most of the hive is filled with workers who complete other jobs such as building and cleaning the hive, producing wax, collecting pollen, nectar and water and feeding the family.
